The Love of Bonita Award honors a fellow citizen who consistently exemplifies the Bonita Springs Community Foundation’s motto “Helping You Build a Stronger Community.” Criteria for the award are: 1) The nominee must be one who consistently chooses to use his/her time, energy, and/or money to make a positive difference in the lives of people living within the Bonita Springs community. (2) The recipient of this award will be a person who actively promotes empowerment, self-sufficiency, and positive change in others. (3) The nominee can express their love of Bonita either as an active volunteer or as an employee of a community organization. A grant by BSCF will be made to a Bonita Springs charity in the name of the award winner. Past recipients of the award include: Jacqueline “Jacke” McCurdy, David Short, Ira Hawk, the late Mrs. Pat Lord, Richard “Dick” Miller, Donna Roberts, Sarah and David Zimmermann, and Audrey Georges.
